Local Information
Doniford -- Situated near to Watchet, A delightful Somerset small harbour resort, when we were in the area we spent hour upon hour feeling relaxed, sitting on the rocks, or visiting the amazing harbour area. It has a maritime history going back over two hundred years. Today a holiday centre has evolved with a hotel right on the West Somerset Railway, you may enjoy the variety of quaint shops on offer and watch the boats in the new marina.

The nearby beaches may expose fascinating treasures of fossils and rocks. It is said that the author of Robinson Crusoe, Daniel Defoe, was amazed by the fossils he discovered at Watchet and Doniford.
